00:03:42: yeah all that took was Chris Murray who couldn't play offense.

00:03:46: And you Know in Jeremy Grant's contract which Jeremy grants an ok player for that contract Was was basically a negative?

00:03:53: It was such an overpay.

00:03:54: definitely

00:03:57: You know, ideally you're bringing him in.

00:03:58: He's only got two years left on his contract.

00:04:00: so expiring contracts and the NBA especially high value ones almost always have some amount of value.

00:04:06: So there is a kind of the upshot.

00:04:07: they are And if he plays well ,you have an opportunity to flip as well.

00:04:11: .So your not on hook for a five year contract or anything like that.

00:04:16: That gives me hope.

00:04:19: even it doesn't work.

00:04:20: its not Years of purgatory.

00:04:23: The other thing is As far as fast breaks go bit of offense is going to be fantastic.

00:04:28: I mean, John Denny on the fast break is gonna be dynamic.

00:04:31: they're plus

00:04:45: a million dollar contract they gave Trey Young.

00:04:49: And we were talking on pod, you know during the season about how shocking it is that John Morant seems to have become a distressed asset and so for them to be able to roll the dice without having to give him an extension off-the-jump... ...and if you compare it with The Wizards' commitment to Trey young It's just such a less risky dice role and frankly I would probably rather roll the Dice On Jaw because its gonna more clear like either its going totally bomb Or it's character issues, obviously.

00:05:17: It's not like he is a shell of himself physically—it's like can he get his head in the game?

00:05:22: And these are kind of shots when The Blazers are in a purgatory situation.

00:05:26: You know they took one on Denny but wasn't as risky.

00:05:29: He comes over and becomes a player that nobody saw coming So I'm looking forward to.

00:05:35: what I want to sift through Is the backcourt.

00:05:39: Now Jalen Brown has been traded.

00:05:41: Just a few hours ago to the Sixers, there was a lot of rumors that maybe The Blazers would be going after him and trading thinning out some of the backcourt in consolidating.

00:05:49: So what are we looking at?

00:05:50: You mentioned on me last night about Scoot Anderson being traded And I'm just kind of curious.

00:05:54: What's the Blazers motivation To do?

00:05:55: That now Would Be

00:05:56: yeah i mean it is one Of those things where its an imbalanced roster At this point.

00:06:01: you know if your Looking at the positive side of things.

00:06:03: They had a lot injuries last season, so you're talking about their four guards between Dame coming back and Drew Holiday that can and should be playing big minutes?

00:06:13: So in two those guys are coming off the injuries.

00:06:17: three of them were actually coming off of injury.

00:06:19: You kind think maybe they could stagger minutes give him enough rest time to make sure he's healthy for the playoffs is one upside shot at it but I mean they're thin on forward.

00:06:33: So it feels like there's going to be a trade at some point, but what I hear coming out of all the camps is that Drew has been rebuffing trades for Drew, Dame as in no-trade clause and Jaa has been over everything they've sent out.

00:06:54: so he seems clearly part.

00:06:57: You know, we kind of just ran through the positives there.

00:07:00: The negatives though are this is you what kinda came first and foremost?

00:07:05: And if you feel differently about any of these negatives that I'm throwing out your video drop by the way.

00:07:21: with a ball on his hand He's can't do much else off-ball.

00:07:28: You know, he was a twenty four percent shooter from three point land last season.

00:07:33: Thirty firsts from this career which means that over his his tenure in league at out of the guys That are kind of quote unquote higher volume shooters?

00:07:47: Dame is ready to play off-ball though, so just piggyback off.

00:07:49: that you know I think a sage in his career.

00:07:51: That's the best way to preserve him.

00:07:53: and i'm Just picturing this stage of his career where he's Scoring eighteen to twenty points a game You know on The most efficient three point shooting?

00:08:01: You've ever seen out Of a player in the late stage or their career?

00:08:06: Chauncey had kind of tried To get them off ball Kind of like Curry does And He'd have been A little hesitant.

00:08:58: and what do think the Blazers plans are with Time Lord who did stay healthy?

00:09:05: Where are you at with Kling Kong as far being over hyped versus, where would have him?

00:09:10: As a second third round picker.

00:09:12: Like what would be comfortable to Kling and knowing about the Blazers

00:09:16: development I wonder if he was a deal breaker in the Jalen Brown trade package is kind of just some wild speculation on my part.

00:09:27: That contract they gave Mitchell Robinson shows that were center hunting For

00:09:31: Yeah, I mean i think that if he gets it's one of those things you know.

00:09:35: He's a guy that big You know?

00:09:37: I think he is the third heaviest guy in the league already.

00:09:42: and so I think you're talking about A natural injury risk thing.

00:09:46: If he can stay healthy You're going to be drafting him like he's gonna stay healthy and you hope that he does.

00:09:52: And so I think, ya know... He was-I don't have the numbers in front of me now but y'know..He was healthy almost entire season last season and gave second or third round value for you.

00:10:00: So i think you do need to draft him at that height.

00:10:04: You are probably gonna be drafting Him into ceiling.

00:10:07: To finish up here on this jaw Here Is The thing that makes me nervous about him is....he's an undersized guard.

00:10:15: He's a buck seventy five He's not a defender.

00:10:18: So they're that pairing with Dame in the backcourt for defense is, uh You know he was going to be pretty dicey and so I

00:10:24: think shade-and-sharp you can't guard forwards.

00:10:27: Nah i don't believe.

00:10:28: like basketball.

00:10:31: Yeah yeah just don't.

00:10:32: no if he wants to play but II.

00:10:34: But I do think that would To tie bet to tie back into Klingon And then we'll kind of finish up here jaw III Do you think?

00:11:05: That has me thinking about Time Lord though as far as springiness on recovering from the weak side getting shot blocks Out of nowhere, I mean that's gonna be.

00:11:16: i think He'll Be A season-Long.

00:11:17: Hold Time Lord is kind Of what i'm getting at out?

00:11:19: i Think you know You.

00:11:20: uh grab him in the tenth or eleventh round and i think you're Gonna have Uh a center you can hold The whole Season.

00:11:26: yeah i think it's one of those things.

00:11:28: Is i think a rubber williams per game is Going To be through the roof And this total is going to need to be Outside of the one twenty but his per games gonna be maybe top sixty Top fifty.

00:11:38: But the my main thing to wrap up job My last Kind of Main My main takeaway, my main the first thing I thought of when that jaw trade happened.

00:11:48: The things continue to think about it now.

00:11:49: is you know It's one of these things That was kind of thrown out.

00:11:52: i think actually it Was bobby marks that had said it maybe a year or two years ago.

00:11:58: He he'd kind Of mentioned that we think of These players as their prime being twenty seven To thirty.

00:12:05: but thats not true for everybody.

00:12:06: You have some guys that peaked later and other Guys who peaked significantly earlier.

00:12:12: so even though John Moran is twenty six.

00:12:14: The thing, my concern is that he's already peaked.

00:12:17: we have seen the best version of jaw and I think there are evidence to support that his shots in paint four years in a row had decreased.

00:12:27: i think just that toll driving into lane taking two three Incredibly hard falls a game.

00:12:36: I think that's kind of building up on himself, so his game has now turned into dribble and deep two which is not a recipe for a fantasy friendly game.

00:12:48: You know when you were describing the career trajectory i thought of Georgia Tech And New Jersey at Great Kenny Anderson.

00:12:56: You know, same with Derek Coleman actually on the team.

00:12:58: But they had this early trajectory that made them look like there could be potential Hall of Famers and multiple all time All-Stars but both their peaks were just about four years there.

00:13:07: And then Ken Anderson got traded a bunch Played for The Sonics For A While Boston he became kind of a journeyman.

00:13:14: He also I think has some character issues too so...I hope you can figure it out.

00:13:18: It'll really fun.

00:13:19: So let me ask you when i'm thinking about Minnesota who will get to soon?

00:15:26: As we're looking kind of the first couple rounds of our drafts

00:15:29: I think i still feel significantly more comfortable with Maxi.

00:15:34: And it's not particularly close...I mean..I think everybody was going take small hits out of line up in comparison to last year, but you know Edgecomb as well.

00:15:45: But I mean Edgecomb maybe not what we'll see...but uh i think i don't think maxi's gonna bring quite as much as he brought last year..but i still feel very comfortable drafting him.

00:15:53: and-and i feel very differently about Jelon Brown.

00:17:08: He had the second highest usage In the NBA right?

00:17:11: And i'm going to make a bold prediction here on this podcast today.

00:17:16: And say that he Is Jaylen Brown will not be in the top sixty five per game next season.

00:17:23: but that makes sense.

00:17:25: and nine cap because he needs really high usage to get there because he turns the ball over.

00:17:30: He's not a particularly efficient shooter from the field.

00:17:33: He is an okay free throw shooter.

00:17:35: as far as percentages at a high volume you know?

00:24:39: I've always felt like he's more suited for points leagues, but then again He's a fantastic free throw shooter and so at high volume.

00:24:45: It could be like a DeMar de Rosen kind of level boosts for your team.

00:24:50: So can i interest you licky in a high-volume free throw?
